All
children at the Crystal Cathedral Academy receive
training in music from Kindergarten. They learn to
read and write music through the Kodaly method. As
well, they all receive group training in voice. In
middle school they learn music theory as well as music
appreciation.
The
Crystal Cathedral Chorus, grades 4 - 8, sings regularly
on the internationally televised, Hour of Power. The
chorus was selected to participate with the Vancouver
Symphony.
Dr.
Kesling of the Vancouver Symphony had this to say
about our choir, "I was taken with how tenderly
was sung the "pie Jesu" from Faure's Requiem.
Bravo!"
Dr.
Donald Neuen has this to say about the choir, "This
artistic experience is one that will enrich the lives
of the students who are gifted in the arts. Second
to none!"
Donald
Neuen, Professor of Conducting and Choral Activities
UCLA
In
addition to choral music, we also have instrumental
music: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Bands,
piano, hand chimes, hand bells, as well as a string
ensemble, with individualized instruction in strings.
