June 12-15

CONGRATULATIONS 8TH GRADERS - YOU ARE DONE - FINISHED - AND OFF TO A NEW BEGINNING !!!!
I wish you the very best as you venture into High School and whether it be here at the Crystal Cathedral or another High School - may you "Pay it Forward" every chance you get. I pray that the opportunity you have had to be in a Christian School will always remind you that you are "You are blessed to be a blessing". Take the gifts you have received from being at CCA out to those God puts in your paths to bless, as you journey on in life.
Sincerely, Ms. Tamble

8th GRADE PARENTS - Please ask your student for the BRIGHT ORANGE paper that was passed out today in Homeroom class that gives you the "scoop" on Graduation. It is very important as it tells the times and instructions for this special event. I look forward to meeting you at the Graducation if I have not had the chance yet. PLEASE do come up to me and introduce yourself. It has been my pleasure to have your students these past few months!

7th GRADE:
Please turn in your book report (due today) if you have not already. We have class on Monday and Tuesday, and Knott's Berry Farm on Wednesday. You are almost an 8th grader - just a few more days!!!! Thank you for being a wonderful class for me these past few months!
Sincerely, Ms. Tamble

10th GRADE WORLD HISTORY:
The World History final is on Monday, June 12th. Please be sure to study and be here on time. The final covers up to Chapter 18 and is everything listed on the study guide passed out in class two weeks ago. PLEASE bring your World History textbook to turn in that day. Some were left in Ms. Calderon's class, and she told me that you may get them from her ASAP, or buy a new one for $80. They MUST be turned in this Monday, June 12th.
Thank you,
Ms. Tamble

Week of June 5-9

AMERICAN HISTORY - 5 Paragraph essays are due at the start of class on Wednesday, June 7th. Please type, double spaced, 12" Roman Times font with a proper heading and TITLE. The essay should be at least one full page, but not more than two. Please attach the 5 paragraph outline form to the front of your essay to turn in for a grade.

You are almost done 8th graders! Graduation practice is on Thursday, and our class party to "send you off" is on Friday. Please bring your Starbuck's money and permission slip, and the Pizza Party money Monday ($5.00 for each). You may not go to STarbuck's without the permission slip.

8th GRADE LANGUAGE ARTS/GRAMMAR - Grammar Book page 186 A & B are due Monday. We will continue to work in the Grammar Books on Tuesday and Wednesday to complete our 2nd semester grades.

7th GRADE LANGUAGE ARTS/GRAMMAR - Book Reports are due Friday, June 9th. I will give EXTRA CREDIT to any book reports received early next week! Please follow the Book Report Outline given out in class. We will staggar work in our Grammar Books with class time to read in order to complete your books for the Book Report. NIGHTLY homework is to read at least one half hour a night in class in the book of your choice so your report is turned in on time.

WORLD HISTORY - we are almost done with our studies of World History - 1945 to present day! The test for Chapter 19 is on Monday, and we will do a review with your study guides the rest of the week. Your finals schedule begins on Friday, June 9th, so I will need ANY make-up or late work turned in BEFORE that date in order to count it for your final semester grade.

Week of May 29-June 2

School is almost out, and we are all anxious for the end of the school year and summer plans that we have made! We are down to the final stretch with just a few more weeks to complete assignments and bring up those academic grades. Please use this Memorial Day weekend to catch up if you have any missing assignments, as well as to reflect on those who give of their time and even their lives for our well-being here in the United States. Please keep my son Chris in your prayers as he heads off to Iraq this Memorial day weekend as well.

AMERICAN HISTORY - "Living History" presentations on Tuesday. Please present "in character" and with appropriate props. Rehearse your presentations so you can present looking at your audience rather than your notes. Make 2 copies of your typed speech, and watch the "um's" and "yeah's" so you sound professional in your presentation! Have fun presenting "in character"!

AMERICAN HISTORY - We will begin working on the 5 paragraph essays that will be due on Wednesday, June 7th. Please begin to think about what you will be writing on now, so you are prepared when we have the computers in class to begin writing.

7th GRADE GRAMMAR - We will continue to work on Grammar in class, as well as reading for your book report. Book reports are based on the book list Mrs. Folk handed out a few weeks ago. Please read 20-30 minutes a night for Homework in the book you have chosen for your book report.

WORLD HISTORY - Chapter 18 Assessment due Tuesday, and Chapter 18 Test is on Tuesday, May 30th. We will then continue our study of World History by completing Chapter 19 on The Struggles for Democracy, from 1945 to Present times. There will be a test on this chapter on Tuesday, June 6h, and there will be a final exam on Monday, June 12th based on the Study Guide Ms. Folk handed out in class last week.
