Public Libraries

Public libraries are for everyone. Students who attend private schools are just as welcome at the public library as the students who attend local public schools. For free borrowing privileges and subscription database access some libraries require that families live or work in the library district. All of the students at our school are encouraged to get a library card at one or more of the nearby public libraries. By using a library card at home or at school students can access databases of thousands of magazine, newspaper and journal articles.

Library service in Orange County is provided by several systems that overlap. This is an advantage as students may have the benefits of at least two different public libraries. Not all libraries have the exact same resources on the shelves or online. Addresses, hours, and in some case maps can be found of local public libraries by clicking below. The three grids represent the three library systems in Orange County. Scroll down this page for additional links to some special libraries.

This is a list of some other California public libraries that have developed websites. Although libraries are generally the same, many of them have differences that are notable on the website or at the actual location. New libraries such as Cerritos are worth a personal visit. Unique features such as a huge fish tank, themed furniture, and fountains make this a special experience for little children or well as those interested in architecture and interior design.

Orange Public Libraries
The City of Orange maintains its own libraries separate from the Orange County Library System. The main library and the two branches listed in the grid above are linked to street maps. Getting a library card through this library is not restricted to living in the city of Orange. Living in California is the requirement for the card
